Last year we started working with Stanford Kyoto Program to host an intern from Stanford University. This year Mariana Giraldo, now a junior majoring in Product Design at School of Engineering, completed her 10 week internship at the end of August.
We thank our clients for their kindness and understanding to let Mariana participate in a few project meetings and presentations. These unique opportunities helped her gain first-hand knowledge about the design/research industry from within. She also tackled her independent study about foreign workers in Japan, which has been a hot issue as our country changed immigration rules this April in order to accept more workers from abroad. We learned a lot from her fresh perspective as she is a second generation immigrant herself in the United States.
We also thank the people at Stanford Kyoto Program. Without their thoughtful and careful support, we could not have had this great opportunity.
