Just a few doors down from Monterey Bay Aquarium full of family groups, student tours and Cooking for Solutions 2014 attendees like us, there’s this classic example of super normal, a design without designing, a two-story wooden structure which once hosted a dream of biologist-businessman Ed Ricketts.

I learned from the website of City of Monterey that Ricketts, an early visionary of ecology, correctly predicted the collapse of Monterey Bay sardine industry at its peak time.
