In February 2017 Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. celebrated the opening of the Yamaha Motor Innovation Center as a new base for design development and innovation led by the Yamaha Design Center.

The building was designed by Nikken Sekkei Ltd. Here NAD (Nikken Activity Design Lab; designing to support innovation initiatives) and we together designed the new working style to take place inside the new building.

Taking special notice of the details in people’s behaviors, and striving to go beyond the client-service provider relationship to co-create together with the end client – these are among the key elements of our activities. These policies have borne fruit as a platform where members of the Yamaha Design Center will merge and collaborate freely across borders of organization or work sections.
We are sure that from here many powerful products and designs will be born that will attract and move people’s emotions.
